Wellbeing

We are an Accredited Employing Authority for the Following Services.

Schools do not employ a chaplain or student wellbeing officers directly. Chaplains and student wellbeing officers are sourced through an external organisation that has been accredited by the Department of Education to provide these services in schools. This organisation is referred to as an Accredited Employing Authority (AEA). Determining which AEA to engage a service through is at the discretion of the principal, in consultation with the school community.
Chaplaincy
Wherever there is a group of people finding life challenging, we would love a Chaplain there to support and strengthen them.

VIRB requires all chaplains to be well trained and well equipped to fulfil our unique take on the role. The minimum requirements as set out by the Department of Education partnered with our Culture Focused Approach training ensure we are able to deliver a community wide, culture focussed approach to social and emotional wellbeing.
Student Wellbeing Officer
The SWO is funded by the Queensland State Government and aims to assist school communities to provide general spiritual, social and emotional comfort to all students, irrespective of their faith or beliefs.

This can include support and guidance about ethics, values, relationships and spiritual issues; the provision of student wellbeing; and enhancing engagement with the broader community.
Youth Support Coordinator
The Youth Support Coordinator Initiative program (YSC) is an early intervention program funded by the Queensland Department of Education and Training.

The role of the Youth Support Coordinator is to support students in Years 10 to 12 who are at risk of disengaging, to support retention and attainment in education and training.
In addition to the minimum requirements of these wellbeing roles, we have a whole School community mindset utilising our 'Culture Focussed Approach' (CFA) to see young people thrive at a values level.
We do this through a number of ways;

- Social & Emotional Programs
- Intervention Programs
- Classroom Culture content
- Training for Teachers in our CFA Paradigm
- Parent Information Sessions
- One on One and Group Coaching Framework
...and much more.
