Food Relief

Proudly Foodbank member

Every day, Australians face the harsh reality of hunger. For many, it only takes an unexpected emergency expense for essentials like healthcare, housing, or transportation to push them into food insecurity. Regardless of our backgrounds or circumstances, life's challenges can affect us all.

Today, the escalating cost of living compounded by the enduring repercussions of COVID-19 are further exacerbating the difficulties challenged by countless Australians who live week to week or find themselves in vulnerable situations.

Food stress and hunger not only have detrimental effects on our physical and mental well-being but also erode the fabric of our communities, mostly for kids and youngsters under development age. That's why we firmly believe that everyone deserves year-round access to nutritious and high-quality food.
Six trucks
We manage a fleet of six trucks that, twice during each academic term, gather donations for distribution at schools.

Our aim is to offer nutritious breakfasts to our young learners, enabling them to excel in their studies and achieve their full potential.
14 schools
We currently support a network of 14 schools across QLD. This effort aims to equalise opportunities for all, recognising that access to essential meals plays a crucial role in ensuring that every student has an equal chance to thrive and succeed.
Families in need
We extend our assistance to families facing challenging circumstances who also receive essential food baskets, which help alleviate the strain on their daily lives and provide much-needed relief.

By reaching out to both schools and families, we strive to create a more equitable and supportive community, where everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive.
Being a member of the Foodbank reflects a commitment to ensuring equal access to food for all children, recognising that this fundamental right significantly influences their future.

VIRB contributes to the critical effort of alleviating hunger and providing nutrition to vulnerable youngsters in our communities. This endeavour not only addresses the immediate needs of children but also plays a pivotal role in securing their long-term prospects.

Access to nutritious meals lays the foundation for physical and cognitive development, enhancing their ability to thrive academically and socially. This support underscores the belief that every child, regardless of their circumstances, deserves an equal opportunity to a healthy and promising future.
